When we returned two hours later the door was discovered opened and ajar. We checked our door upon exit to ensure it was closed. Today my wife and I left the hotel to grab breakfast. So even though in Atlantic City this hotel counts as 4 stars, it just cannot compare with an actual 4 star hotel. Still, everywhere else this would be basic. However, the staff cleans the rooms each day, which is more than most comparable hotels. There are no thrills, not even a restaurant, and they offer nothing special. Final In Atlantic City, this is probably a 4 out of 5. The daily cleaning sets this hotel apart. At most mid tier casinos (Trop, Harrah's, Hard Rock) staff cleans once every other day or even every 3 days! They even make you pay for wifi. If you are traveling the world, daily cleaning seems the bare minimum. Incidentals What makes this among the best hotels in AC for its price was the fact that the staff cleaned every day. There was a little office space which doubled as a place to write and eat. ![]() My room was nice enough: king sized bed with a big tv that I never used and a pretty nice shower. I refused because it was just for 1 day and I would have had to move rooms for the remaining five. I am a Marriott Platinum so they offered me a suite upgrade for free. The lady who cleaned my room came each day and did an excellent job. The gym guy was cool, kept the gym clean, and did not stress me about my music- I brought my own speaker to the empty gym. The cleaning staff, the person who cleaned my room and the person who cleaned the gym, were excellent. They even gifted me 1,000 points, which was nice. They were nice, accommodating, and told me which areas to visit and to avoid. Staff The staff is the best part of the hotel. However, there is a pretty decent gym, and there is free wifi that always works. There is no restaurant, no pool, no spa, no robe, no slippers, and no thrills. The problems with the City are not the hotel's fault so in all the location is pretty good. When you walk away from the Boardwalk and into the City, you see more of the City's barrenness. There is a strip club five minutes from the hotel which is not the best for families, but AC is not really a family location anyway. It is a 5 minute walk from the Boardwalk, which is Atlantic City's main attraction and the entrance to most of its casinos. Location in the City The location is ideal for the solo traveler in town for a conference. ![]() Right now, Atlantic City seems like a ghost town. Greater minds than mine are hopefully at work on revitalizing this city- maybe festivals or maybe solar infrastructure because the casinos are a wash. There is an airport in AC and there used to be a train line than ran directly to NYC. This City could easily supplement the Hamptons as a vacation hub for people from NYC and from Philly. It does seem like AC is poised for something however. There are beautiful abandoned buildings abutting the boardwalk that look like Jay Gatsby's "business gonnection" owned and sold them. Addicts of every race dot its streets and haunt the entrances of its 711s and Dunkin Donuts'. Atlantic City Location Atlantic City seems like it peaked during the 20's. But I have given other hotels 4 stars that are way, way better in every conceivable metric than this one. It is probably a 4 star experience when compared to those hotels and casinos. However, compared to comparably priced hotels and casinos in Atlantic City, New Jersey, it's better than average. This hotel is nowhere near a global standard.
